Extra Topics¶
These topics sit outside the main Part 1 and Part 2 sequences. They cover skills and practices that matter for effective training but are not part of the core design-to-OER workflow.
Part 1 walks you through designing a training — from mapping your system through to assessment. Part 2 helps you package that design as reusable, open resources. The topics here address what happens around and after those processes: delivering the training you have designed, and evaluating whether it contributed to the change you intended.
They are standalone. You can work through them at any point after completing Part 1, in any order.
Topics¶
Facilitation, Delivery, and Session Structure¶
Designing a training well is only half the work. This topic covers the practical side of delivery: how to structure a session, manage time, read the room, handle group dynamics, work with co-facilitators or interpreters, and recover when things go wrong. If you are facilitating training for the first time, start here.
Evaluation for Impact¶
Assessment (covered in Lesson 9) tells you whether learners met your intended outcomes. Evaluation asks a broader question: did the training contribute to meaningful change over time? This topic covers how to collect useful evidence after delivery, distinguish signal from noise, and use what you find to improve future iterations of your training.
